Delbert Colligan was born June 3, 1922 to Ernie Colligan
(1895-1967) and Olwyn Hughes (1898-1970). He had two
brothers Donald also known as "Red" and Roger. He
married Patricia Boone December 16, 1942 in a
candlelight ceremony at the Methodist Church. The
attendants were her sister Dorothy and his brother Roger.
He enlisted in the Army in December of 1942. At that time
he was 6 feet tall and weighed 175 pounds. His release
date was 31 December 1945. He had three children:
Daniel, Linda and Kerry. Delbert followed in his father's
occupation and sold cars in Wild Rose. The garage was
located at 445 Main Street. The car lot was located where
the motel is at the corner of Main & Maple. Patty died
May 10, 1971. On January 27, 1972 Delbert married
Dorothea Wright in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Delbert died
September 29, 1979 and is buried in Caersalem Cemetery
in the Town of Springwater. His daughter Kerry died in 1995.
His second wife Dorothea died July 14, 2005 in Keshena,
Wisconsin. She was 93 years old.
