Glenn R Murty was born May 24, 1917 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Rodney Murty and his wife Blanche Etheridge Murty. He returned to Wisconsin in 1920. This picture shows him at the Naval Training School in Morehead, Kentucky. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and besides Morehead, he was stationed at Potomac Heights, Maryland and at Cambridge, Massachusetts. While in service he x-rayed shells and other explosive devices including US, German and Japanese shells. His draft card showed he was 5'11", 140 pounds, black hair, brown eyes an light complexion. He was very active in the Lions club and attended many International Conventions. He married Jeanette Olson September 23, 1941. He died March 19, 2005. |
