This picture of the Congregational Church and Weisser's store was taken before Highway A was rerouted. The Congregational Church was located on old County A and Weisser's store was on Portage Street. The present Fire Station in Saxeville is located where the church once stood. At that time Saxeville had three churches: Congregational, Baptist and Lutheran. The building by the tree on the right side of the picture is the Saxeville Post Office where George Washington Jenks worked. Ray Weisser ran the store. |
