Dr. Carl O M Anderson

Dr Carl Olaf Mathias Anderson was born November 7,
1881 in Scandinavia, Waupaca. His parents were
Henry M & Amalia Anderson. He was baptized at the
Scandinavia Lutheran Church on Dec. 18, 1881. He
graduated from Marquette Medical School in 1911.
He went to Wild Rose, Waushara County, WI to
practice in 1911. He also married Mabel Jeanette
Larson in 1911. His children Bruce Murat Anderson
was born in Wild Rose in 1913 and daughter Beulah
Loraine was born in 1916.  He left Wild Rose in 1921
to Go to work at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN as
an eye, ear, nose and throat specialist. His WWI draft
card said he was tall, with medium build with blue
eyes and gray hair.  He died August 10, 1937 in
Rochester, MN. A number of people from Wild Rose
attended the funeral in Rochester.

Floyd and Bessie Crum

Floyd Wallace Crum was born Nov. 10, 1912 in Wibaux,
Montana to Dermot Crum and Nora Marie Jeffers.  He
married Myrtle Dee Cook. He lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
He died in Marietta, Cobb, Georgia Oct. 17, 1980. His
sister Bessie was born Nov.  10, 1917 in Salerno, Martin,
Florida. She married Brooks C Rickard June, 10 1935 in
Cheyenne, Laramie, Wyoming.  She died April 29, 1976
In Kansas City, Wyanotte, Kansas.

Patricia Etheridge

Patrica Louise Etheridge was born Sept. 5, 1933 in Wild Rose
WI. She was the daughter of Dewey Etheridge and Monica
Cychosz. She graduated from Wild Rose High School. She
worked for the U.S. Embassy in Paris. She met Sgt. Louis
Heidel who was a Marine a guard at the embassy.  They
were married in the U S Embassy in Switzerland in the mid
1950's. She later worked at Camp Pendleton and the Naval
Hospital in Fallbrook, California.  She was a medical transcriber.
She died in Fallbrook, California Sept. 25, 2003.

Tippecanoe & Tyler Too Voters


William Henry Harrison was the Whig
candidate in 1840 with John Tyler for
Vice President. Harrrison fought in the
Battle of Tippecanoe.  He gave a very
long Inauguration speech and died
someas a result.

Milford, Glenn and Jesse Etheridge Playing with Dolls

Emeline Peterson Hanson Gunderson

Emeline was the daughter of Jens (James)
Peterson and Helena Olsdatter. She was born Oct.3,
1862 in Mt. Morris, WI. She married Martin
Hanson born Nov. 28, 1855 in Mount Morris and
died March 20, 1900 in Wautoma.  Martin had been
the Post Master. Emeline was appointed Post Master
for Mt. Morris April 23, 1900. In 1905 she received
$69.32 in pay.  At the same time Frank Clark received
$778.50 for the Wild Rose Post Office. They had two
children: Gerald Jay born Aug. 28, 1893 in Mt. Morris
and died Feb. 9,1966 in Baraboo. Grace Helena was born
July 5, 1895 in Mt. Morris. She married  Stephen
Sylvester Sullivan. She died April 21, 1996 in
Milwaukee. Emeline married Steen C Gunderson.
Steen was born in 1856 and died in 1936.

Neal Bryen

Neal Arashaw Bryen was born August 18, 1934 in
Cook. Co, Illinois to Ernest Bryen and Marguerite
Darling. He graduated from Wild Rose High School
in 152. He willed Hot Rod Ford to James "Beach"
Knacksteadt. He was Spud Erwin in the class play "Ever
Since Eve". His nickname was "Shmoo". His appearance
was scientific. He had a weakness for old,old cars. His
saying was "Oh I don't know about that." His song was
"That's My Desire". He wanted to go to college. He went to
the University of Wisconsin in pre-med. He was a Baptist.
He died December 23, 1955 in Madison WI. He is buried
in Oakhill in Wild Rose.

This is Favell's Barber shop. I believe the man in
the first chair is Floyd Favell. Notice he was a
Republican because he had President William
Howard Taft's (1909-1913) picture on the wall.

Rev & Mrs Ellis Richard Roberts


Rev. Ellis Richard Roberts was born in Llanycil,
Merionethshire, Wales on June 20, 1867 to
John Roberts and Ann Edwards, He came to the
US in 1884. He married Elizabeth Jenkins on 
March 5, 1895 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth
was the daughther of Hopkin Jenkins and Ann 
Lewis. Elizabeth was born April 21, 1874 and died
April 21, 161 in Luzerne, PA.  Ellis died Feb.9, 1960
in Wikes-Barre, PA. He served 5 years in Scranton,
PA until Sept of 1906. He served in Wild Rose
at both Caersalem and the Horeb Presbyterian
churches.

Thomas James was later involved in the attempted
robbery of the Wild Rose State Bank in 1905. He was
successful in blowing the safe in the Wild Rose
Post Office which was housed in Clark's Store. Wild
Rose was successful in capturing Thomas James and
3 others.
