Rev Carl J Nolstad and baby Gerald

This is a picture of Rev Carl J Nolstad and baby Gerald
son of Grace Hanson Sullivan.  Gerald died in infancy.
Rev. Nolstad was the 3rd minister at the West Holden
Church.  He was born in Norway about 1871.  He
came to the United States in 1887. He was naturalized
in Chicago in 1895.  He graduated for Augsburg
Seminary in St Paul in 1904. He married Alma
Borghildaft July 12, 1905 in Dunn County Wisconsin. 
They had two children born in Marshall County,
Minnesota.  Evelyn Camilla born June 3, 1906 and
Arnold Ragnvald born August 21, 1908.  His first church
was in Wattertown, in Grant County, Wisconsin. He was
in Minnesota for the birth of the first two children.  In
1914 he took a trip back to Norway with Rev. A J
Eikeland. His third daughter, Margaret was born in
Makoti, Ward County, North Dakota about 1918. 
He moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1941 from La
Mourne, North Dakota.  He died in Phoenix in 1959
at the age of 89.
