Around 1930 Clarence Corning built one of the
earliest folding trailers. Clarence was born to
Sidney Corning and Augusta Sherman in
Medford, Taylor County, Wisconsin on March 4,
1881. He married Grace Stoddard September 27,
1899. She was the daughter of Homer Stoddard
and Millie Dale. Clarence was a rural mail carrier
in Wild Rose. He also had the Corning Restaurant
next to the Hotel. He was a member of the Wild
Rose city baseball team and the city Wild Rose Band. They had two children Harley Corning and
Millicent Corning Calvert. |
