Benjamin Etheridge

Benjamin Etheridge was baptized June 10, 1821 in
Bishops Cleeve but was born in Woodmancote,
Gloucestershire.  He came to the US in 1848 with
his brother Josiah.  Benjamin went to Janesville
nd Josiah to Wild Rose. Benjamin married Jane
Frost who was born November 13, 1827 in Cheriton
Bishop, Devon, England.  Jane was the daughter of
James Frost and Mary Ann Bragg. They had three
daughters: Nellie Etheridge Smith (1852-1884),
(Emma C. (1855-1866), and Ida Bell Etheridge
VandeWater (1858-February 9, 1898).  Nellie
married Ebenezer Smith on February 17, 1876. 
Ida married Fred Vandewater on June 22, 1886.
Benjamin was a blacksmith and carriage maker. 
Benjamin died in Janesville January 25, 1896.  J
ane died 17 April 1909 in Janesville.
