Mr & Mrs David R Clayton

David R Clayton,  Jr. was born March 12, 1869 in the Town of
Springwater to David Clayton and Hannah Brunt.  He married
Annie Davis, daughter of William R Davies & Ann Evans, on
May 12, 1897. Rev. Daniel Thomas of the Caersalem Church
was the minister. Annie was born August 5, 1874 in Danville,
Pennsylvania. She came to the Town of Rose with her parents
in 1879. They lived in Springwater until about 1923 when David
worked as a caretaker at the University in Oshkosh. They
returned to Wild Rose in 1942.  They had seven children: two
daughters died in infancy and the others were Hannah wife of
John Evans, Irwin, Oral wife of Roger Calvert, Vesta wife of
Lloyd Roberts, and Eldora wife of Ben Schaefer. David died
April 14, 1947 in Wild Rose. Annie died March 13, 1956.
