Evalyn Attoe Blumer

This picture with the lilacs is from the 1920's. Evalyn
Elizabeth Attoe was born October 16, 1904 in the
Town of Springwater to Frederick Attoe and his wife
Pauline "Lena" Schmidt.  Fred was born 
June 21, 1878
in Springwater to Walter Attoe and wife Ann Dixon. 
Walter was from Postwick, Norfolk, England. Evalyn
was the oldest of 5 children. Her siblings were Rhoda,
Alden, Glenn and Edson. Evalyn went to what is now
the 
University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.  She taught in
Oshkosh at the time of the 1930 census.  On July 8,
1933 she married Leigh Walter Blumer, son of Matthew
and Ann Blumer. Leigh was born 
September 6, 1899
and died in 
New Jersey in October of 1960. Leigh was
buried October 9, 1960.  He was a teacher.  They has a
son who was named after Evalyn's brother Edson who
died young. Evalyn wrote a book entitled 
To the Last
Bird: The Story of a Wisconsin Pioneer Family. 
The
Attoe family is buried in the Baptist Springwater Cemetery.
