Edna & Oscar Holt

Oscar A Holt was born in the Town of Springwater to
Andrew and Ellen Holt September 16,1869.  He married
Edna Jones, daughter of Daniel Jones & Margaretta
Williams.  Edna was born Dec. 28, 1874. Their children
were Irene Holt born & died No. 27, 1904 and Howard
born & died June 20, 1906. Oscar started a store with
Oscar Jones where Lautitzen's gas station is today. The
store was a dry goods and grocery store. By 1910 Edna
worked as a sales lady in the store. By 1930 Oscar was
selling life insurance. Edna died Feb. 13, 1936. Oscar
married Winifred Wilson Moldenhauer on Oct. 5, 1938 in
Dubuque, Iowa. Winifred was the daughter of Charles
Wilson and Anna Thompson. Her first husband was Ernie
Moldenhauer who had owned the hotel. Oscar died
Aug. 18, 1959. He was buried in Oak Hill cemetery.
His house was located at 740 Maple Ave.
