This is a picture was probably taken in late 1903 or early 1904. These are the oldest two sons of Halbert Anderson and his wife Louisa Charleson. Ellif is on the left was born November 7, 1902 in the Town of Mt. Morris. He worked for Speed Queen and was a veteran of World War II. He never married and died November 13, 1979 in the Oshkosh Oshkosh Hospital after being accidentally hit by a car. His older brother, Russell was born April 5, 1901 in the Town of Mt. Morris. He married Olive Simonson, daughter of Edmund and Tora Simonson on July 6, 1926. They had two sons : Donald and Gerald. Russell worked for the Bank in Wautoma and served as Mayor of Wautoma. He later did income taxes and worked at a pickle station. It may surprise younger readers but young boys were dressed in dresses including with lace often until they were trained because it was easier to change their diapers. |
