Nan Songe

Nanette Marie Songe is the drum majorette from
the 1940-41 school year.  Trygve Songe was her
father.  He was born May 19, 1892 in Drammen,
Buskerud County, Norway. He died November 11,
1954.  Her mother was Mae Abbot who was born
January 3, 1901 in Hancock.  Mae Songe died
April 7, 1993.  Nan was born in Lima, Peru while
her dad was working there as an implement salesman. 
She returned to the US at age 9 months.  She played
violin and bassoon.  She graduated from Wild Rose in
1943.  She attended Stevens Point and then UW.  She
married Kenneth B. Sander and they had three children.
Two boys and a girl.
