Leon Deering and Gladys Etheridge on a picnic

This picture is before 1920 and was taken at
Little Silver Lake near Wild Rose. Leon 
Deering
and Gladys 
Etheridge were both graduates of
the class of 1914 in Wild Rose.  Leon was the
son of Thomas 
Deering and Gertrude Towne
He was born October 24, 1896 and died
December 11, 1966. He is buried in 
Greenvale
otherwise known as the 
Dopp Cemetery.  He
was a farmer but also had a strong interest in
music from the violin to the 
accordion and
drums.
Gladys was the daughter of Alanson Pease Etheridge and Lorinda Spicer.  She was
born July 22, 1897 and died in St. Paul,
Minnesota August 16, 1961.  Gladys was a
talented artist.  She was especially good at
weaving and pottery.
