Hellen Merrifield was a Principal in Wild Rose when Rodney Murty
was in high school. Wild Rose had only three years when he was in
school so this card is asking if he had gone on to school. Hellen was
one of the first three women elected to the Wisconsin Legislature in
1924. By that time her name was Hellen Merrifield Brooks and she
was living in Coloma. Her husband died. Her second husband was
Edward Shay.
