Potato Vacation from Wild Rose Times Oct 2, 1919

Potato vacation was usually one or two weeks so there must have been a large crop in 1919.
The school children helped pick up the potatoes after adults dug up the hills with shovels and forks
The children were not paid for the work because they worked on their family farm or neighbors.
Wild.Rose produced lots of potatoes and the Railroad that came to WR in 1901 made it much easier
to get the crops to markets.
