Floyd was born August 2, 1890 in The Town of Rose, Waushara County. His parents were Milan Dunham Jeffers & Bessie Merriam. Floyd was a farmer but he also grew flowers especially large Dahlias. He was interested in government and politics. He was very interested in his ancestors especially those who came from Rose, NY. He was active in the Wild Rose Historical Society. When he went to the hospital shortly before his death, he complained about the taste in his mouth. The doctor suggested blackberry brandy so my grandmother (Blanche Etheridge Murty) sent her husband to the Hotel to get a pint. After Floyd died on Feb. 10, 1970, the brandy was returned to grandma. At first she kept it in a brown paper bag in the refrigerator. We told her that wasn't necessary so next she hide it behind the large container of flour. Later some of her nephews from Clintonville mixed it with Squirt and replaced the brandy with water. Grandma never knew about that.
