Beautiful website. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I'm descended from the Byces of Rose, Wayne Co, NY. Stephen Byce was my 3rd great-grandfather. I am interested in learning more about Susan Marie/Maria Byce, John Nelson Pease's 1st wife, who died bef. he moved to Wisconsin. "Rose Neighborhood Sketches" says she was a d/o Stephen, but I don't see how. Perhaps she was a younger sister or a d/o an older brother? I understand J.N.Pease & S.M.Byce had 3 children before she died; James M. (b.1845), Emily (Pease) Hayes (b.1848) & John W. (b.1849???). Would love to learn more about these children too. I have tried to contact Dr. Marlin Dee Jeffers in Casa Grande, Arizona, by snail mail, but have never gotten back a response. Would appreciate any help/information. Bill Byce of the Pacific NW
This website has been an incredible help in documenting the Jeffers family from Rose, Wayne, NY. My gx3-grandfather, James Foote Jeffers, was the youngest child of Robert Jeffers Jr and Christiana Foote and the only one who went to Iowa and so our family lost touch with this large and colorful group. Thank you so much for making this information available.
I am very happy to find this web site. My ancestor Joseph Browne Hursh married Orilla Jeffers in Rose, NY. He was my gg grandmother's brother. Most of the Hursh family ended up in Isabella, MI but I see that Billy Hursh went to WIld Rose. I would love to hear more about the family from Rose, NY. I live in the next county over.
