Frank Inda WWI Picture
Frank Inda was born Aug.2, 1888 in the Town of
Springwater, Waushara County WI. His parents
were Frank Inda Sr and Rose Gregor. He married
Amelia Maciejewski June 29, 1920. He seerved
in WWI as a 2nd Lt. He left Feb. 18, 1918 from
Hobokan NJ. He left with Co. D, 119th Machine
Gun Battation. He returned from Brest France on
May 5, 1819. He was a farmer. He killed 8 foxes
and received $3 per fox from the Waushara
County Bounty. In 1924 he ran for sheriiff. He
was Commander of the Daniel Dopp Post 370
in Wild Rose, wi. Frank died Jan. 22, 1970 ad
was buried in Wautoma Cemerty.

Dorothy Gitchins, Teacher
Dorothy Mae Githens was born May 22, 1904 in
Madison, Wisconsin. Her parents were Charles
A Githens and Annie E Sorenson. She was a
school teacher and taught in Waushara County.
She married Russell K Peterson in St. Ignace,
Michigan May 28, 1932. Newton Walters, who
from Wild Rose lived in St Ignace and was a
witness for the wedding. Russell's parents were
John Peterson and Hannah Kercory. They had a
daughter Nancy Ann. Dorothy died Aug.3, 1989
in Hubbard, MN.
Donald B Stewart
Donald Benjamin Stewart was born June 3, 1921 in Wild
Rose, Waushara County WI. His parents were Benjamin
Harrison Stewart and Pearl Louisa Huffman. He graduated
from Wild Rose H.S. in 1938. He lived on River St. in
Wild Rose. His WWII draft card lists him as 6'1",
weight 224, brown hair, blue eyes, ruddy complexion.
He enlisted in the miltary. He married Essie Lee Frye in Texas
She died in Florida in 1994. They had four children. Donald
was the co-founder of the Dizzy Dean Baseball Program in
1977, Donald died Aug, 24, 2009 in Pensacola, Florida.
Edith Brigham Merryfield
Edith May Brigham was born May 22, 1879
to Joseph Brigham and Ruby Persons in the
Town of Rose, Waushara County, WI. She
married Frank Vernon Merryfield. She was
a member of the Methodist Church, Royal
Neighbors, the Eastern Star. She had ten
children but four of them died under two.
Those who grew to adults were: Lester,
Vernon, Howard, Kenneth, Gordon and
Beatrice. Edith died Dec. 17, 1957 and is
buried in the Crystal Lake Cemetery in
Waupaca County.
David W Clayton
David W Clayton was born June 17, 1905
in the Town of Springwater, Waushara County. He
graduated from Wild Rose in 1923 and had 3 years
of college. He worked for Rodney Murty at th grist
mill and later was a business manager for Ernie
Knoke at the saw mill. He married Gladys Cutler
from Stevens Point June 17, 1935. Gladys had been
teaching in Wautoma. He was Wld Rose Village
President, served on the WR Library Board, the
Wild Rose Historical Society, and the Lions Club.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He
had two daughters: Jean Clayton Kittleson and Ann
Clayton.

Charlotte Moldenhauer
born an. 31, 1916 Mount Morris,
Waushara County, WI Her parents were
Ernest Moldenhauer and Winifed Harriet
Wilson. Her siblings were Mildred,
Gordon and Lyle. Her parents owned
and ran the Wid Rose Hotel. Charlotte
died Jan. 18, 1933.
Chauncey C Lane
Carl Witzel Jenks
Carl Witzel Jenks was born Aug. 13, 1914 in Wild
Rose WI. His parents were Chester A Jenks and
Vinnie Stevens. His middle name from his maternal
grandfather's middle name. Carl graduated with
the Wild Rose Class of 1932. He went to the
University of Wisconsin for two years. He died
June 19, 1937 His pallbearers were :Boyd Clark,
David Etheridge, Howard Merryfield, Maurice
Anderson, Grant Godson, and Darrell Larson.
He is buried in Oakhill in Wild Rose.
