| John R Humphrey Aug. 31, 1847- Apr 1, 1934. He married Margaret A Williams in 1878. They lived in Springwater, Waushara County, WI. He was born in the Town of Delafield, Waukesha County. He moved to Wild Rose in 1854 with his family. He married Margaret Williams on May 7, 1878 in Wild Rose. They had 4 children. He died in 1934. His pallbearers were: Edwin Owens, James Roberts, Ed Jones, Linder Wilson, Edger Evans, and Dan Davies. |

| James Watson Page was born in 1821 in Pennsylvania. His birth date is calculated from his death age. He moved to Rose, New York in the 1840's. He married Polly Jeffers, daughter of William & Phebe Jeffers, about 1843 in Rose, New York. Polly was born August 1, 1824 in Rose, New York. James & Polly had three daughters all born in Rose, New York. Phoebe was born in 1843 and married Charles W Lane. Sarah married Locey Nash in 1866 Tammie married JohnD Stewart and died in 1876. Polly died April 24, 1853 in Rose, New York. James then married her older sister Clarissa Jeffers so he had some one to clean, cook and care for his three daughters. Clarissa was born October 11, 1821. She died May 18, 1885 in the Town of Wautoma. Her funeral was held in the Standalone Church which was located where the Mt Pleasant Cemetery is located south of Wild Rose on Highway 22. Mr Page suffered from rheumatism so he decided to sell his house and move to California in April of 1888. He had operated a mail order business for onion seeds before he left Wisconsin. His voting record in California lets us know that he was 5 feet 10 inches tall with hazel eyes and grey hair in the middle 1890's. He also had a crooked finger on the second finger on his left hand. He died on Christmas Day in 1899 in Calistoga, California at his daughter, Phoebe's house of a stroke. |

| Dr. Alfred W Carey was born January 9, 1853 in Euphemia, Ontario, Canada.He graduated from Woodstock College and taught for four years. He then graduated from Detroit Medical College in 1881. To better prepare himself he took a postgraduate course in Eye Surgery at the University of New York City. He first practiced in Caro, Michigan. He taught at Toledo Medical College for one year. He came to Wild Rose in September 1892. He built a house at 530 Main St. in Wild Rose in 1894. In March of 1895 he got the first telephone in Wild Rose. He married Phoebe Brown in 1875. They had three children Mary and Fred and the third died in infancy. He married Della Richards in 1890 and they had two sons Richard and Phillip. Dr Carey died of a ruptured appendix on March 23, 1899. His widow was a music teacher and in 1901 she married Dr. William Wilcox who came to Wild Rose. Dr. Carey had a number of very successful eye surgeries. He had the red house on the corner of Main St and River St built. Even though he had a telephone a snow storm prohibit help for his appendix. |

Wild Rose Historical Society Will Celebrate the Wild Rose Skating Club
The program will take place at the annex to the Library in
Wild Rose. Oct 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM. There will be displays
of clothes the mothers made for the skaters. There are
pictures, newspaper articles and some film of the shows.
Those who were in the shows from the late 1940's through
1953 are especially invited to attend and share memories.

| Sherman Lloyd Anderson was the son of John P Anderson and Ella Sherman. Ella's mother was Sophie Jane "Jennie" Thomas and her father was Benson Sherman. The Thomas family lived in 17th in the Town of Rose, Waushara County, WI. |
